Hors d’oeuvres in the Heat

Summer has officially began here in SoCal. Or maybe it’s still spring. Either way, temperatures above 100 degrees call for light snacks on this lazy Sunday. With some tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and spices you can whip up both or either of these dishes in just a few minutes.

For these caprese bites you’ll need sliced tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, pesto, and some toasted baguette pieces. Just layer the ingredients on the bread and enjoy!

For this caprese bruschetta you’ll need the same ingredients as above just chopped and mixed in rather than a DIY style plate. Serve with toasted baguette pieces for a variation of a traditional bruschetta.
